International influence over local government
Issue
United Nations Agenda 21, adopted in Rio de Janeiro in 1992 at the U.N. Conference on Environment and Development, has had profound influence on local public policy. The objective of this document is to integrate environmental protection, economic development, and social equity under the management of global authorities.
The United Nations Millennium Assembly and Summit has authorized the U.N.'s vision of global governance and is now accelerating its implementation with the approval of more than 170 nations, and funding by a conglomeration of government, corporate, and foundation grants. Local implementation of U.N. Agenda 21 is shifting the power to make public policy away from elected officials to non-elected individuals who are using a "new collaborative decision process" to reorganize society around the central principle of "protecting the environment."

Consequences
As its policies have been put into place it has become clear that U.N. Agenda 21 is antithesis to the US Constitution. U.N. Agenda 21 is worldwide collectivist government under the penumbra of the United Nations.
Successful implementation of U.N. Agenda 21 policies and processes has already resulted in loss of private property throughout the USA. The ultimate outcome of successful implementation of U.N. Agenda 21 will be as follows:
- Loss of USA independence
- Forced USA servitude to "developing nations",
- Diminished individual liberties of USA citizens, and
- Loss of private property.

Position
History has repeatedly shown that freedom promotes peace, prosperity and the individuals' pursuit of happiness, while collectivism has resulted in poverty, a degraded earth, and human tyranny everywhere it has been, and is, applied.
